How To Measure For Roller Shades

    General Rules

~Always measure at the top of the window.
~Roller shades are cut in accordance with given measurement; so they should be precise.
~Brackets must be installed at level.

    Inside Mount

Measure the exact distance between the points where the brackets will be installed and deduct 1/8" ( 0.32 cm ) for roller clearance.

    Specify "tip to tip" measure.

    Outside Mount

Measure at the distance between the points where the brackets are to be placed.

    Specify "tip to tip" measure.

    For Height

Measure height of window opening from top of frame to lower sill. You must add 10" to this measurement so that the shade can be operated down to it's lowest point without the material being torn off the roller.

    Specify "finished length".

How To Measure For Vertical Blinds

    Inside Mount

Measure the exact width on the inside at 3 different places. Use the smallest measurementand deduct 1/8". Measure the exact length from the top window opening to bottom sill. Use the shortest and deduct 1/4".

    Specify "finished inside measurement".
    Specify "valance required/not required"

    Outside Mount

Measure the exact width and length, including all the frame to be covered by blind or shade. Add 3" to length for mounting blind above frame if there is a window sill, or if blind will go to floor. If there is no window sill, add 3" below for light and privacy control. If measuring for sliding door, allow 1 " clearance. To cover all window or frame, the vertical should overlap by 3" on either side.

    Specify "finished outside measurement".
    Specify "valance required/not required".

How To Measure For 2" Wood Horizontal Blinds

    Inside Mount

Inside mounting is most common for standard windows. Measure the exact inside width and height of the window opening between jambs. Deduct 1/4" from tight measurement.Valances Included

    Specify "finished inside measurement".

    Outside Mounting

Measure the exact outside width and height from frame to frame. To overlap the window, we recommend you add 3" to your width and height measurements. No allowances will be made by the factory. Valances Included

    See Measuring Diagram Above

How To Measure For Sunscreen Roman Shades

    Inside Mount:

Measure the smallest inside width and subtract 1/4". For length, measure from inside of window at top down to the sill. Give measurements as finished

    Outside Mount:

Measure the exact width you'd like the blind to be. We suggest overlapping the frame by approximately 2" for good coverage. Length should be from where you want to mount the blind down to where you want the blind to fall. Again we suggest overlapping the frame by approximately  2".

3" or 4" extension brackets are available if needed for your wall mount installation.

Measuring Guide For Panel Track Shades

    Inside Mount:

Measure the exact width where the track will be installed and subtract 1/4". For length, measure exact height of opening and deduct 1/2". Give measurements as finished and specify ceiling brackets.

    Outside Mount:

Measure the exact width where you'll be installing the track. Measure the exact height you want the blind to be. Give measurements as finished and specify wall brackets.
